What is possible can only be found out when you go beyond the impossible. Most people never try to go beyond the impossible

The title is a quote from Jiddu Krishnamurti, and it is very true.

We solidify in our patterns and our thought. When we think we know something fully, we almost never again challenge our assumptions about that thing. Until something extraordinary happens, which shakes a person to their core and make them begin questioning their reality.

Such an event can be likened to the "Nigredo" phase of alchemy, where the old structures disintegrate to allow for a rebirth into new consciousness. After such a transformation, people begin moving into the impossible. And find it to be possible.

Moving past "impossible" requires an extraordinarily open and questioning mind. Such a mind is capable of real alchemy, transforming impossible into possible.

In Zen Buddhism, shoshin (beginner’s mind) reflects this open state where we drop preconceived notions and allow room for the unknown to reveal itself. Likewise, in Hermeticism, the principle of Mentalism states that the mind is the key to unlocking all mysteries.

In more modern Spirituality, the concept of Nigredo can be found again, in the "Dark Night of the Soul". When a soul moves through such a deconstruction, it is renewed and opened.

In Christianity, this renewal of the mind can be found again in the idea of being "Born again".

Real alchemy isn’t about changing substances - it’s about changing perceptions. When we dissolve the rigid structures of what we think is possible, we open ourselves to the infinite potentials of existence. That’s when the "impossible" becomes a stepping stone to deeper truths.

That old Alchemical stereotype of "transmuting lead into gold", isn't really about changing lead into gold. Rather, it is about looking at lead and knowing it to be gold. When I see something differently, it is different.

Do you believe in Magic?

What if I told you that it is everywhere, surrounding you all the time? Though you may be blind to its existence? What if I told you that you yourself, is pure magic? A walking, talking, breathing miracle? Would you question your worth ever again, if you knew it to be true?
