What would the most immersive combination of movies, games and music possible feel like? I think, like reality itself. So is this just "entertainment" for the eternally existing souls?

The most immersive entertainment would be one where the distinction between the observer and the observed dissolves completely. Where story, sound, image, and agency converge into a single seamless experience and the participant stops knowing they’re participating.

At that point, “immersion” isn’t a layer on top of reality; it is reality. The movie would play through you, the game would unfold as you, and the music would be the rhythm of your own heartbeat and thought. Every emotion, every sensory cue, every decision would feel both authored and spontaneous.

If consciousness itself is the ultimate medium, then existence might be the original entertainment. A self-aware simulation of infinite variety, designed (or naturally arising) to experience itself from every angle, forever.

That movies, games and music exists - art in other words - can be seen as a clue as to the "meaning" of the universe itself. It is there, to be experienced. Just like our own art forms.

But I can use so many words to speculate. "Dream" is another word that has been used, that points to the same notion. Its echoed again and again over the ages. And yet... only words, none of them capture the "truth".

The words are like fingers pointing to the moon. Not the moon itself.
