The birth of authoritarian morality:

"We must protect the world from the monsters. But the monsters are us, and we’re not allowed to admit it. If we ever admitted it, there would be no enemies left."

And that is the beginning of a societal descent into perpetual hypocrisy which is not at all aligned with who and what we actually are.

In it, we build polished cages and call them progress.

I will trust a man who owns his darkness any day of the week over someone who believes themselves righteous. Someone who has met their own darkness is trustworthy. Not because they are good, but because they are real.

Righteousness without self-awareness is dangerous.

One could even say, it is an evil.
